Sheryl Murakami has been dancing and performing since the age of 5. She is an L.A. native who has trained extensively in ballet with the Long Beach Ballet Company while also studying tap, jazz and later branching out into hip hop and salsa. Sheryl currently resides in NYC.

You may have seen her featured in numerous television shows, national commercials, and music videos. Her television credits include Star Search, Arliss, Sabado Gigante, MTV VMA's, VHI Fashon Rocks, Latin Grammy's, NBA All Stars, Los Angeles Raiderette and Rams Cheerleader, As the World Turns and Saturday Night Live, as well as commercials and industrials for Nexxus, Oxygen Network, Viacom, Footlocker, Bally's Fitness, and Chivas Regal. She was also a guest teacher for "Strictly Personal", FOX 5's Gooday NY, and Bravo’s "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy".

She has worked with various artists such as Avril Lavigne, Lady Gaga, Nelley, Pharelle, Nelly Furtado, Diddy, Wisin Y Yandel, Ultra Nate and Placido Domingo. Her love for Latin Culture and dance has brought her to work and choreograph for several Latin musicals and showcases in Los Angeles bringing her to work and tour internationally with Latin Pop sensation Thalia.

Sheryl has created her own unique style of dance. Her strong athletic technique fuses jazz-funk, rock, alternative, musical theater, Latin, and pop. Sheryl's signature style captures the strength of feminine sexuality. Her expertise in all forms of dance have enabled her to guest teach and choreograph nationally and internationally. She is currently teaching at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

One of New York's most respected choreographers, Miss Murakami has choreographed for EMI recording artist Jolin Tsai, Mexican pop star Thalia, and several up and coming artists. Other credits include industrials for Maxim, Puma, Heineken, Apollo Theater, NYSC, Jingle Ball, X Box, Lollapalooza, guest choreographer for the NJ Nets and NYC Knicks Dancers. Miss Murakami has been featured in Men's Fitness magazine and was selected to teach a series of instructional DVD's for Chickstyle Magazine. Currently she is directing and performing throughout NYC with her jazz-funk-rock based dance company T(H)RASH. An elite group of female dancers, T(H)RASH is the culmination of many years of hard work and knowing what really works. With this group she has choreographed a series of shows that are sexy, provocative fun. From burlesque to rock, blues to pop. It is her intention that T(H)RASH is "An uncensored unapologetic celebration of a woman’s strength, humor and sexuality." Miss Murakami can be found teaching at the world renowned Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

Her passion, love and commitment for dance has brought her to higher levels and will continue to expand her career as a gifted and most talented choreographer.
